“I am really surprised by the music from this menage-aux-trois from Belgium. The foundation for all the five tracks on the album comes from seventies psychedelical music. Now the word ‘foundation’ is used on purpose, for every song is also covered in a layer of own ideas. The first track – “Time Traveller” – works with Stoner like vocals and a typical 70’s Hammond organ. A rather strong point is the variation between the heavy opening and the mellow bridge, in which the drummer’s Hi-hat and Crashes create a cool atmosphere. Later one the heavy guitars march in and realise a perfect outro, so in essence a song with head and tail.”
“”N.O. Mustang”, the second tune on the album, has a lot of Yes influences with a leading part for the bass guitar. The song creates a certain tension which is hard to really get hold of. The sound of the guitar in some ways remind me that typical Shadows sound. The track starts rather relaxed, but in the end the heavy side of the band (again) takes over. “Voodoo Dancer” is sung in a rather scruffy way with the aid of a distorted microphone and runs up-tempo from your speakers. The overdubbed guitars are responsible for a full and rich sound.”
“The by far longest and most experimental track is “A Neverending Enigma”. A nine minutes long musical extravaganza which leads us through a conjuring of Pink Floyd’s “Ummagumma” and “Solitary Wishled” from Emerson, Lake & Palmer. After the apotheosis a Hammond organ leads us into the final track, in which multi-instrumentalist and singer Steve Houtmeyers takes to the microphone once again to give the song a somewhat modern feel. This song also has its surprising moments, it twists and turns from laid-back moments to all hell breaks loose but it never becomes irritating, and via a subtle bridge comes to an end in which all instruments get real rowdy and the song crescents into a true pandemonium.”
“In conclusion: The brothers Steve & Dave Houtmeyers and Tom Vanlaer have delivered an outstanding product which – also due to the excellent sound – will end up pretty high on my yearlist.”
