“A Strong effort from Swedish space-doom outfit ”
“Okay, so straight away, on first listen, I wasn’t digging opening track “Airborne”. I thought for a minute I’d just put on the demo record of any stoner rock band recorded in their parent’s garage. The riff on this track is typical neanderthalic hard rock. I encouraged myself to persevere ‘ and am I glad I did! In the third minute, the opening track begins its psychedelic space rock ascent. Suddenly I realise that all the fuss about the new record is entirely justified. This is one you want to listen to a couple of times and then it will grab you! Second tune on the EP, “Miranda” is a tour de force through catchy riffs and potent licks. I begin to notice a theme through this record during “No Pills, No Power”; like to punctuate their infectious riffing with some of the most inspiring atmospheric space rock breakdowns committed to tape. “Nebula VII”, as the name suggests, see the band truly immerse themselves in heady galactic psychedelia. Album closer “Morning Star” begins with an evil riff setting the mood for a head-nodding groovathon; this is one of those tracks that you can’t just casually play while you’re doing the laundry ‘ you need to sit down, tune in and before you know it, drop out. This is without a doubt the darkest song on a varied record.”
” check all the boxes; reliable rhythm section, impressive axe skills, a powerful voice and more importantly, the ability to combine these resources and put together a fresh sounding record with plenty of influence from 70s pioneers and modern day innovators at the same time.”
