“, apparently started in the early Seventies and Pentagram’s Bobby Liebling and Geof O’Keefe were and still are part of it. When you mention early Seventies and Pentagram one thinks proto-doom. And that is exactly what delivers. After having been totally unknown for years and only having released their first demo in 1986 there now finally is full-length album with ‘s music. In 2002 band founder Randy Palmer died in a car accident just after the basic rhythm parts had been recorded for the album. Now, some ten years down the line that album is finally released and has to be seen as a tribute to Randy Palmer.”
“And a worthy tribute it has turned out to be. Nine songs which span almost an hour and are clearly recognizable as Seventies doom but with a full and heavy sound to it. It is clear the band has ties with Pentagram. Just listen to “D.E.D.” which sounds as a Pentagram song and where you can clearly hear that the vocal lines had originally been written with, most probably, Bobby Liebling in mind. For the entire length of the album the name Pentagram keeps on popping into your head. Which, considering the history of isn’t weird at all. Just like that band, which starts with a P, ‘s songs are real songs, with a head and a tail and at times will also make you think of Place Of Skulls.
A great piece of history this album which, most likely, will go down well with Pentagram and Place Of Skulls fans and anyone who is interest in proto-doom or in doom’s history.”
