“Apparently this is the last album by . The band doesn’t call it quits and will continue to perform but they won’t record any studio recordings anymore. You know that people who make statements like this often change their opinion. I’m curious if this really is the last album. Time will tell.
I do understand why bandleader Leif Edling makes this statement. I think he has reached the limits of what is possible within . Theres not much room for further developments and that leads to repetition. That’s something you can notice when it comes to this album. I was quite enthusiastic about “Death Magic Doom” but not about “”. It sounds like a regular album. The riffs remind a lot of their initial source of inspiration; Black Sabbath. The use of organs remind a lot of Edlings other band Krux. Of course has used this instrument in the past too, but I feel the difference between both bands is less obvious. Perhaps this sounds a bit negative but that’s not my intention. I do think that fans of will enjoy this album too. But the decision to stop recording albums probably is a wise decision. The band recorded a couple of classic albums, which should give them enough possibilities in the live circuit the years to come.”
