What began as an elite side project including members of Pantera, Crowbar, Eyehategod and Corrosion Of Conformity has become a full-time gig for these Southern gentlemen, and things are rolling ahead full steam. Right out of the gates, the album blasts through the speakers with Anselmo’s household bellow, but brings more of the same tried-and-true rock’n’groove that fueled the band’s transition from one-off group to three LPs and counting. From slow and sludgy to chugging midtempo, the sounds of the South are ever present. The whole of the album should leave the listener, even the most discerning fanatics out there, more than satisfied. The band fills a niche no other group could even approach.
