“Next to “C.O.D.” Season Of Mist also reissues “” on both CD and LP. For a long time this was the last album ever recorded until they released “Lillie: F-65” in 2012. “” is seen by many, including me, as the ultimate album and one of the best doom metal albums ever. In 1992 “C.O.D.” was released with Chritus on vocals. When he left original singer Scott Reagers came back into the band. As far as I’m concerned his vocals fir saint Vitus best. Of course that’s a matter of taste, but since I spin this album most often I guess that can be seen as a great guideline. “” was released in 1995 by the German label Hellhound Records. In 2010 a fantastic reissue on vinyl was released through Buried By Time And Dust, but that one has been sold out for some time now. Since Season Of Mist is releasing “” on vinyl as well you can stop weeping over that. So, if you haven’t got this album in your collection you now have the chance to rectify that. I repeat: “” is really one of the best doom metal albums ever!”
Lords Of Metal, Pim B.
“From the very opening riff of “Dark World” I knew I had spent my dough wisely. Full of thick, slow, syrupy riffs this platter creeps along like heavy morning fog. Scott Reagers bizzare vocals drip out of the woofers like dew. A sweet sound indeed. The tight rhythm of bassist Mark Adams and drummer Armando Acosta provide the perfect groove for Dave Chandlers’ searing guitar leads. By the time the last track “Just Another Notch” came up, I had become totally hooked on these guys. This album was everything I had been looking for at the time. It still finds it way to the top of my stack quite often still to this day.”
