“By now everyone knows the events leading up to Selim’s solo outing. The Devil’s Blood suddenly split up earlier this year and Selim, shortly afterwards, announced he was working on a new project which would go by the name of , where the enemies were a couple of ex-The Devil’s Blood band members. Now we already get an MCD called “” to introduce the project to the world outside. The three songs on the record continue where The Devil’s Blood left off. So, expect jam-like songs with a lot of psychedelic turns. Opener “Eschaton” is built up in such a way that it can be stretched into a twenty minute jam live. Following song “Thistle” is more straight forward and many a person will probably already be familiar with it due to YouTube and a couple of compilation albums, such as the V’n Records Roadburn 2013 one. Closer “Your Way Down” starts off in a rocking manner which we’re familiar with from The Devil’s Blood although it is more psychedelic. Just like opener “Eschaton” it has a jam-like build up and can be stretched into enormous lengths live. “” showcases which way want to go and is therefore a good introduction and not suitable for people who can’t stand this sort of jam-like music. I wonder how it will all sound and come across on a full-length release.”
